# Manage Your Nexenergie Account Settings and Profile

> Update your email, change your password, and manage security settings from the Nexenergie dashboard. Keep your account credentials secure.

Your Nexenergie account controls access to the API and the dashboard. From the account settings page, you can update your profile, change your password, and manage security settings to keep your data secure.

## Accessing Account Settings

To open your account settings:

    Click your username or avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

    Choose **Account Settings** from the dropdown menu to open your profile page.

## Updating Your Email

  <Step title="Navigate to Profile">
    From **Account Settings**, select the **Profile** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your new email">
    Click the email field, clear the current address, and type your new email.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and verify">
    Click **Save Changes**. Nexenergie sends a verification link to your new address. Click the link in that email to confirm the change.

<Note>
  Your email address does not update until you complete the verification step. Until then, your existing address remains active.

## Changing Your Password

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Security tab">
    From **Account Settings**, select the **Security** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your current password">
    Type your existing password in the **Current Password** field to confirm your identity.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your new password">
    Enter your new password in the **New Password** field and again in **Confirm New Password**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Update Password**. You will receive a confirmation email notifying you of the change.
  </Step>

Choose a strong, unique password that you don't reuse across other services. A password of at least 16 characters that mixes letters, numbers, and symbols is recommended.

<Tip>
  Use a password manager such as 1Password, Bitwarden, or Dashlane to generate and store a strong, unique password for your Nexenergie account. This removes the need to memorise it while keeping your account secure.

## Password Reset

If you can't log in because you've forgotten your password:

1. Go to [https://app.nexenergie.ai/forgot-password](https://app.nexenergie.ai/forgot-password).
2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
3. Check your inbox for a password reset email and click the link inside.
4. Enter and confirm your new password on the reset page.

The reset link expires after 60 minutes. If it has expired, repeat the process to receive a new one.

## Deleting Your Account

To delete your Nexenergie account, contact [support@nexenergie.ai](mailto:support@nexenergie.ai) with your request. The support team will verify your identity before processing the deletion.

Deleting your account permanently removes:

* All API keys associated with your account
* Your complete forecast history and accuracy records
* Access to the dashboard and API

  Account deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Ensure you have exported any forecast history or records you need before submitting the deletion request.

## Account Profile API

The `GET /account/me` endpoint returns the authenticated user's profile details. This is useful for confirming the identity and plan associated with the API key or token in use — for example, verifying the correct organisation is active before running a forecast pipeline.

| Field          | Type   | Description                                            |
| -------------- | ------ | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| `id`           | string | Unique identifier for your user account.               |
| `email`        | string | The verified email address on the account.             |
| `organisation` | string | The name of the tenant your credentials are scoped to. |
| `plan`         | string | Your current subscription plan.                        |
| `created_at`   | string | ISO 8601 timestamp of when the account was created.    |
